Thanks for the links.
There's a new...Bueno!

Thanks for the links.

There's a new Field Poll of Californians out that's pretty gobsmacking regarding the way workers feel about the economic crisis. I'll try to get into more details about it, but for now, this quote might do:

Larry Scott, another poll respondent, also isn't impressed by falling unemployment numbers.

"From what I read, job growth is barely keeping up with population growth," said Scott, 47, a supervisor in the Sacramento County workers' compensation office. "The state and federal governments are in denial regarding their expected tax revenue."

Scott said he has gone without a raise for years, but his health insurance premiums keep rising. "That means I'm going backward," said Scott, a Democrat who plans to vote for Romney.

Clearly, that's a protest vote because the policies out of the White House have been so unfavorable to middle class working people -- of which he is one.

Romney isn't the answer, but Scott doesn't have another viable alternative, at least he thinks he doesn't. This is the fundamental problem with our political system.

But that aside, workers seem to know what's wrong, but the solution isn't as self-evident, especially when there doesn't seem to be any way to bring the Ruling Class to its senses.

Hope all is well with you, too.

Cheers.Ché Pasahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01926630891287949373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2304235862479840318.post-19019826457745056792012-07-13T12:46:14.519-07:002012-07-13T12:46:14.519-07:00Thanks for your reviews of the book. Spurs a great deal of reflection and I think your take is spot on.

It's amazing how workers have accepted the propaganda, that "communism" is evil, "socialism" is evil, etc. etc. . . . even though if they were truly implemented along democratic lines -- as they were meant to be -- all workers would benefit tremendously.

In my own journey, I've refined positions more, and now think the ecosocialist movement fits.

Good websites for the Green Left:

http://climateandcapitalism.com/

http://www.monbiot.com/

Hope all is well.Cuchulainnoreply@blogger.com
