So, He Resigned Did He?

The news yesterday was that the violent little pissant McKinney cop whose actions caused a national uproar thanks to video shot by Brandon Brooks has resigned. Eric Casebolt, former McKinney Cop of the Year (2008) sent word through his attorneys that he was resigning effective whenever.

This action defused the situation in McKinney for the moment, but word has it that Casebolt was a police trainer, and my sense of his departure is that his trainings will continue and perhaps flourish. Who knows, he might even join up with (Lt Col) Dave Grossman's "Killology" Road Show.

Word has it that the one young man who was arrested at the Incident in McKinney -- he's the one the pissant cop draws his gun on and is seen at the end of the Brooks video being escorted back by the other two uniformed cops while apparently spitting blood from his mouth -- has been released with no charges. He had initially been arrested for "interference".

The pissant cop's unprofessional behavior in McKinney unfortunately is not unusual. In this case, observers wondered if his chaotic and violent behavior was enhanced by, if not directly caused by, substance abuse, particularly steroids or perhaps cocaine or meth. Who can say? Cops are typically not drug tested, though steroid abuse is said to be rampant among them, while other drug abuse is by no means unusual. Drug abuse is widely encountered in any high-stress occupation. The fact that the other cops on scene behaved themselves indicates that whatever was going on with Casebolt was his own private fantasy world alone.

This is an important point in my view. It only takes one cop going wild to cause a whole scene to degenerate into mayhem -- or in too many cases, to cause the death of innocents.

The other cops on a scene may or may not participate in the mayhem, but they are for the most part powerless -- and perhaps too fearful -- to intervene to stop it.

Entire departments can be infected this way, and I would say from observation over many years that far too many departments are infected. Removing the "bad apples" may have a salutary effect, at least temporarily, but the infection goes to the heart of the department and can easily break out again, despite the removal of "bad apples." But most infected departments don't remove their "bad apples." Many departments promote them instead.

So it's a good thing in the short term that Officer Pissant Casebolt is leaving the McKinney police department. But I'll bet you anything he'll show up somewhere else, either as a consultant/trainer or a supervising officer.

It's just the way these things seem to go.

Not that I'm cynical or anything.

What the Actual F*ck??!!

This video has been making the rounds today. White cops in suburban Dallas going ape-shit on black pool-partiers, a particular example being that of the sergeant on duty, hurling a bikini-clad partier onto the ground, hauling her around by her arm, and kneeing her on the back until another cop comes along with handcuffs to truss her up.



Apparently the big-bellied fat fucks are plainclothes officers, though it's hard to say.

The story I've read is that a white female resident of the housing development objected to black pool partiers in her community pool. She got into a fight with a black girl -- who is apparently also a resident of the development -- when the white woman said the others should go back to the "projects". The white woman, according to what I've read, initiated the physical struggle. Another white woman intervened to break it up. Others called 911 claiming that there were all kinds of black people using the community's pool uninvited. Still others called saying there was a fight. A dozen police responded, the little pissant sergeant (now referred to as piss ant Police Supervisor Cpl Eric Casebolt).

Supposedly the pool party was advertised as "open to the public" on social media, and from what I've been able to glean, those who objected to the presence of black people in the pool were adult white people. From the video, it's not apparent that white kids have a problem with the presence of black people at the pool party.

The little pissant corporal, the one who savages the girl in the bikini, is out of control and he has to be restrained by his buddies when he pulls out his gun to threaten youngsters who come to help the girl he's thrown to the ground.

"Failure to obey" quickly and completely enough is the trigger for his actions -- at least so far as I can tell.

It's been pointed out that the police are only interested in the black kids. But the other issue -- which I think is a key -- is that they are responding to repeated 911 calls.

In too many situations, callers to 911 are a menace, as are dispatchers and responding officers. Something is dreadfully wrong with the flow charts that are used and the protocols of dispatch. Too many people are killed and injured and wrongly arrested/harassed by police sent in response to ambiguous or hostile calls to 911. Something has to be done. Further, police in this instance chose to escalate where there was no need. They did it because... they knew nothing else? I don't know. But what they did was wrong.

Headline of the Day: "Now El Paso Wants Out of Texas"

The Modern Secession Movement which has been triggered by the re-election of The Kenyan Socialist Darky to the White House has led to plenty of ludicrosity, especially in Tejas next door where the crackers have gone crazier than usual.

Comes now a petition out of El Paso saying "let us out of Texas!" Apparently El Paso would re-up with New Mexico, which makes sense given that it is practically a suburb of Las Cruses as it is. There would still be the question of what to do with Ciudad Juarez, but that can be dealt with in due time.

Don't think, however, that New Mexico itself has escaped the Modern Secession Movement. Oh far from it. 

Even though, let's be clear, most of the signatures on the NM petition of secession are by out-of-state-ers. New Mexicans may be a cussed lot from time to time, but most of them know what side their bread is buttered on and are well aware that twice as much tax money flows into the state as its comparatively few residents send to Washington.

Were it not for all the military bases and installations and all the labs and university programs and all the other national funding that winds up here, it's hard to imagine that New Mexico would be anything but a very impoverished wilderness and frontier. New Mexicans by and large know this.

On the other hand, they mostly know how to live on the edge. For hundreds of years and perhaps for thousands of years before that, New Mexicans and their Pueblo Indian and other progenitors lived "poor." They had no choice. And they made the best of it -- in sometimes charming, sometimes astonishing ways. The Earth provides -- but rarely abundantly for those who live here.

Secession is seen by the wag-rocracy as more of a joke these days than it was prior to the Civil War. There's been more than a little sniggering over the Texas secession plea, to the tune of "LOL. Kthxbuhbai" and so forth.

The part of New Mexico where we live is often considered an outpost of West Texas, and during various periods, it was claimed by Texas (and periodically invaded.) Everything up to the Rio Grande was once declared Texan, but Texas could never make the claim stick. Instead, there's been a slow migration of Texans into the eastern half of the state, and I wouldn't be surprised if they make up a majority of the population these days.

Nevertheless, Tejanos though they may be, they become New Mexicans once they settle in, and I would bet that given their druthers many of those trapped in the sink-hole that is Texas would dearly love to be adopted by New Mexico. Heh.

New Mexico's current governor is called "Susana la Tejana" because she was born and raised in El Paso and is not of the Old Spanish Stock that has long been prominent in New Mexican politics. But from appearances she's adapted pretty well to New Mexico's customs and ways, to the point where she's almost liked -- despite the fact that she's both a Texan and a Republican.

For myself, I've often encouraged secessionists to do it. Please. Go.

The Quintessential New Mexico Ranch

They say the Val Kilmer Ranch on the Pecos is "under contract" for sale. He's been trying to sell it for years, and he has run into more than a little grief from the locals over all kinds of shit he's pulled. The Kilmer ranch is a multi-thousand acre spread in the northern mountains, nice enough, and certainly pricey enough at $18 million, but not all that special.

No, there's another ranch -- Rancho Alegre -- not all that far from our little place in what's generously called the East Mountains that has been on the market for longer than the Kilmer place, at an asking price of $12,900,000 for 175 acres and a remarkable set of houses and outbuildings that practically scream "Hay! Here's a Place!"

New Mexico.

Well, it's listed by Sotheby's and I'm going to lift the pictures, just so folks who stop by here can see the kind of things People With Money have been up to in New Mexico. It might surprise you.

This place is adjacent to the Eaves Movie Ranch, so it obviously partakes of a soupçon of The Show Business, if you catch my drift.

Rancho Alegre doesn't qualify as a large ranch by New Mexico standard, not at 175 acres. Because there are so many multi-thousand acre ranches in the immediate area, the land seems "empty." Very few houses, very little traffic, nothing but tiny towns scattered here and there, some of them half abandoned.

Culturally, I think the area is part of Texas.

But not as crazy.

Arizona Sux -- Again

Jeebus, what is wrong with these people?

The latest news out of the Idiocrat Secessionist State of Arizona is the Reactionary Rightist movement toward imposing a flat income tax.

Good idea, hm? Been yabbered about for ages. It's been the principal cause of the redoubtable Steve Forbes (is he still alive?) for years and years, and now that the Rs have such a stunning majority in the ISS of Arizona, by cracky, they're gonna impose it on the peeps.

Sounds like a plan.

Here's what it would do:

Increase income taxes substantially on those making less than $100,000 a year, and reduce income taxes on those making more.

That's the way it's supposed to be, yes?

Taxes, being punishment and all, are supposed to reward success and punish failure. Simple. Anybody can understand that. And anybody who is scraping by on less than $100,000 a year is obviously a failure and deserves to be punished by being forced to pay double, triple, quadruple, or tens of thousands of percent more in income taxes than before, while those making more than the cut-off amount that determines success or failure deserve to be be rewarded with lower and still lower income tax obligations amounting to a 45% cut at the top.

This is alleged to provide incentives to the well-off to create "jobs" for the failures.

This is beyond absurdity, but there you are. It is Arizona, and there is no reasoning with these people; there is only Power and its application. They do not reason, they cannot think, they are strangers to consideration.

After all, Sheriff Joe took his tanks -- and Steven Segal-- out to round up a suspected cockfighter and had his people kill the chickens while he was at it. All in a day's work in Arizona.

These people are crazy. Out of their fucking minds.

Unconsciously hilarious. But extremely dangerous to consciousness everywhere.

Myself, I would just as soon let them secede, along with Texas and anyplace else that wants to go. Or I'd be happy to sell these reprobate states back to Mexico for a dollar.

I mean, come on. In Texas, which has at least as great a budget deficit as California, the answer to their financial dilemma is to make things worse, exponentially. By driving down wages and benefits further, forcing more and more Texans into poverty they will increase tax revenues. They're insane. But that's the way it is, and there is no reasoning with them. They believe what they believe and no amount of "evidence" will convince them otherwise.

At some point I think you just have to say "Let them go." And be done with them. Their redemption may come one day, but by then, we'll all be dead.
